2009 Fall Plant Sale

Plant Sale at Historic London Town and Gardens

Fall is for planting! Visit Historic London Town and Gardens on Saturday, September 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the annual fall plant sale. Rare and hard-to-find shrubs and trees will be available, as well as excellent companion plants. An array of woodland species, both native and exotic, that thrive in our local environment, will be featured. A special highlight will be a selection of Dr. William Ackerman’s camellias, and other cold hardy camellia cultivars. Magnolias and bare-root peonies, premier cultivars that create a gorgeous display in any spring garden, can also be purchased.

London Town will once again partner with Melwood in offering seasonal plants, including pansies and mums. Anne Arundel County Master Gardeners will be on hand, along with London Town’s Director of Horticulture, Cathy Umphrey, to offer help and advice on plant selection and cultivation. A list of all plant offerings will be available at the sale.

Historic London Town and Gardens is known for its eight acres of beautiful woodland and ornamental gardens, which showcase unusual native and exotic plant species. Many of these plants, as well as unusual perennials, shrubs and fall vegetables will be among the plants offered for sale.

London Town Foundation members receive a 10 percent discount on all purchases. If you are not a member, please join and receive your plant sale discount! For information visit the website at www.historiclondontown.org or call 410-222-1919.
