Historic London Town and Gardens is a twenty-three acre park featuring history, archaeology, and horticulture on the South River in Edgewater, Maryland. The park is owned by Anne Arundel County and managed by the London Town Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN: 52-1396159). Created in 1993, the Foundation manages the site under a formal operating agreement with the Anne Arundel County government. The Foundation is responsible for developing and conducting interpretive, recreational, and educational programs that allow visitors to learn about our historical, archaeological, and horticultural offerings.
Our mission is "To inspire a deeper understanding of our region’s history, environment, culture, and arts through living history, historical artifacts, experiential public gardens, and collaborative cultural & arts programs."
Last year on this date, Riley, our senior toy catcher and all-around-awesome staff dog, toppled the human Rod Cofield as executive director.
However, the coup didn't last more than 24 hours before Rod (somehow) won back his position and Riley was demoted back to her original position.
She's been plotting her revenge all year long.
Overnight, Riley turned all the staff into animals and babies. Check out the photos of the changed staff below.
We don't know how long her efforts will last. But while we're sorting this out, please note that London Town is closed to the public today. We hope to have everything fixed by Wednesday when we open for the season with our regular hours.
In the meantime, Happy #AprilFoolsDay everyone!
