Finding a blue or purple flower in nature is a treasure for most botanist. For it is claimed that there is no true blue color in nature. Most blues are said to be permutations of purple, violets. But a blue- purple flower garden is blissful, tranquil and unique. Blue gardens are filled with happy blues!

There are only about 10% of the approximate 300,000 flowering plants that have blue flowers. Of course with years of hybridizing, there are ample blue colors around.

 

Pansie

 

Some of the happy blues and purples filling up the gardens at London Town currently are the Hyacinths, Crocus and Scilla.

 

Anenomes

 

Awaiting many other blues including the Anenomes, Salvias, Baptisias and Amsonia in early spring. Do you have any happy blues in your garden?
